The Québec Golf Federation (“Golf Québec”) is the governing body for golf, with a vision to be the leader and reference for the practice of golf in Québec. Its mission is to increase participation, develop excellence, and promote and govern the game of golf.
It represents nearly 50,000 members across more than 250 clubs in Québec and eastern Ontario. Golf Québec offers programs such as the Sport-études golf program, rules of golf, course rating, and the World Handicap System (WHS). Golf Québec also oversees various amateur competitions at regional and provincial levels.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership and Governance
- Implement the strategic plan adopted by the Board
- Advise the Board on strategic decision-making
- Ensure rigorous accountability (reports, performance indicators, budget monitoring)
- Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and good governance practices
2. Operations Management
- Oversee all of Golf Québec’s day-to-day activities
- Ensure the planning, organization, and evaluation of programs and services
- Optimize internal processes and ensure organizational efficiency
3. Financial Management
- Draw up and monitor the annual budget
- Ensure sound and rigorous financial management
- Oversee accounting, audits, and financial obligations
- Identify and develop new sources of income (grants, partnerships, sponsorships)
4. Sport and Program Development
- Oversee the implementation of development programs across the five contexts of sporting practice (introduction, discovery, recreation, competition, high level)
- Collaborate with members, clubs, regional golf associations, and the PGA of Québec (coaches)
5. Human Resources Management
- Recruit, supervise, engage, and evaluate staff and volunteers
- Foster a healthy and productive working environment
- Develop the skills of staff members and volunteers
- Ensure compliance with labour laws and internal policies
6. Partner Relations and Representation
- Represent Golf Québec before government bodies (MEQ/DSLAPPA), sports and community partners
- Maintain close relations with organizations such as SPORTSQUÉBEC, Golf Canada and other provincial golf associations, and the Standing Committee of the Québec golf industry (PGA of Québec, NGCOA, ACGQ, QSA, Golf Québec)
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships
7. Communication and Brand
- Oversee internal and external communication strategies
- Ensure Golf Québec’s influence and visibility
- Promote Golf Québec’s mission, vision, and values
Job requirements
Education
- University degree in management, administration, sport or a related field
- Training in non-profit management or governance is an advantage
Experience
- 5 to 10 years’ management experience
- Experience in financial management and reporting
- Experience in human resources management and volunteer coordination
- Experience in business development or large-scale marketing
- Experience in managing a sports organization in Québec is an advantage
