Montréal, August 19, 2026 – Gracelyn Xiao (Rivermead/Québec team) and Noah Fecteau (Saint-Georges) were crowned champions of the 31st edition of the Junior Match Play Championship, which took place from 17 to 19 August at the Knowlton Golf Club.

A total of 48 young athletes gathered for the event. The boys’ draw featured 32 players, with five rounds in the championship division and four in the consolation flight, whilst 16 girls took part in the girls’ tournament, which comprised four and three rounds respectively.

In the girls’ competition, Gracelyn Xiao capped off her flawless run by winning the final 3 and 2 against her teammate from the Québec team Alexandra Botsis (Rosemère Fontainebleau).

Both finalists had emerged victorious from their first three matches of the competition to secure their places in the final. However, Xiao had the last word on Wednesday, claiming the Junior Match Play Championship title for the second-year running.

In the boy’s competition, Noah Fecteau and Mikaël Coupal (Vallée du Richelieu/Québec team) met in the final after both had won their first four matches of the tournament.

In the end, it was Fecteau who got the better of Coupal by a score of 3 and 2, completing a flawless run and leaving Knowlton with top honours of the division.

Two consolation finals were also on the program on Wednesday, bringing the 31st edition of the event to a close.

In the girls’ division, Victoria Massé (Le Blainvillier) won her match 3 and 2 against Raphaëlle Provost (Vallée du Richelieu). In the boys’ draw, Tristan Jousselin (Le Mirage) needed extra holes to defeat Mathis Raymond (Pinegrove) and win the consolation final.

Golf Québec would like to extend its warmest thanks to Knowlton Golf Club, its staff, and the volunteers for their hospitality and invaluable support throughout the competition.

Golf Québec’s events will continue this coming weekend with the Graham Cooke Junior Invitational, which will take place on August 22 and 23, at Club de golf Les Boisés de Joly 2020, in the Chaudière-Appalaches region.
