Montréal, July 16, 2026 – The province’s top female golfers gathered from 13 to 15 July at Elm Ridge Country Club for the Women’s Provincial Amateur and Senior Championship presented in collaboration with belairdirect.
The event, which attracted 70 participants, comprised the amateur (101st edition) and senior (58th edition) divisions.
In the amateur division, Justine Émond (Le Blainvillier) took top honours with a total of +7 (223) after three rounds. This marks her second victory this season in Golf Québec competitions, following her win at the Debbie Savoy Morel Cup.
Zixuan Tan (Public Golfer Program) took second place with a total of +14 (230), while Mackenzie Cloutier (Le Blainvillier) completed the podium at +15 (231).
In the seniors’ division, Marie-Thérèse Torti (Vallée du Richelieu) claimed her sixth provincial senior title at the Women’s Provincial Amateur and Seniors’ Championship, with a total of +17 (233). Suzanne Ricard (Royal Montréal) finished second with 234 strokes, whilst Annie Lapointe (Vallée de la Lièvre) came third with a total of 241 strokes.
In the participation divisions, contested under the Stableford format, Marie-Pier Desroches (Montcalm) emerged victorious in the amateur category with a total of 84 points, and Line Théberge (Laurier) triumphed in the seniors’ category with 87 points.
Nancy Walker Sportsmanship Award
Since 2004, the Nancy Walker Sportsmanship Award has been presented annually at Golf Québec’s women’s competitions to highlight the importance of respect for fellow competitors, officials, and the sport of golf. This award honours Nancy Walker for her outstanding contribution to the development of the Canadian Ladies’ Golf Association – Québec Branch.
Following a vote by all participants, Shinyao Zang (Rivermead) and Monique Bérard (Dunes) received the honours in the amateur and senior categories, respectively.
On the Way to the Canadian Championships
As well as crowning the Québec champions, the Provincial Women’s Amateur and Senior Championships marked the second and final stage of the Jocelyne Bourassa Series, which began with the Debbie Savoy Morel Cup last June. The combined results of the two tournaments determine which teams will represent Golf Québec in the inter-provincial competitions of the Canadian Championships, which comprise the first two rounds of the national events.
The province’s amateur team will consist of Justine Émond, Mackenzie Cloutier and Kate Guo (Pinegrove), the latter also being a member of the Québec team. The trio will be in action at the Canadian Women’s Amateur Championship from July 21 to 24, at the Toronto Golf Club in Mississauga.
Suzanne Ricard, Marie-Thérèse Torti, and Annie Lapointe will represent Golf Québec at the Canadian Women’s Senior Championship, which will be held from September 16 to 18, at the Pine Hills Golf Club in Alberta.
Golf Québec would like to extend its warmest thanks to Elm Ridge Country Club for its hospitality, the quality of its facilities and its excellent cooperation in hosting this Women’s Provincial Amateur and Senior Championship.
All eyes are now on the conclusion of the Men’s Provincial Amateur Championship, scheduled for this Thursday at the Saint-Georges Golf Club.
