Montréal, July 10, 2026 – Alexis Rouleau (Vallée du Richelieu) was unbeatable over the past week at the Boys’ and Girls’ Provincial Junior Championship held at Club de golf Lac-Saint-Jean. Already the winner of the 2026 Assante Optimiste Junior Classic, Rouleau finished the four rounds with a cumulative score of -15 to claim victory once again.

The Team Canada NextGen member had already built up a solid lead after the first two days of competition, where he carded identical rounds of -5 (67). He was then six strokes ahead of Zack Bourgeois (Le Blainvillier/Québec team), his closest challenger.
Rouleau maintained his form over the final two rounds, carding scores of -3 (69) and -2 (70), to seal his victory.

Charly Pinel (Bellechasse/Québec team) finished in second place at -10, whilst Oscar Ricketts (Beaconsfield/Québec team) rounded off the top-3 at -2.

More than fifteen juniors coming from here will be heading to the Canadian Junior Boys’ Championship, to be held at the Wascana Country Club in Regina, Saskatchewan, from August 11 to 14. In the inter-provincial competition, comprised of the first two rounds of the national event, Golf Québec will be represented by Zack Bourgeois, Alexis Rouleau, and Oscar Ricketts.

On the girls’ side, Léonie Tavares (St-Raphaël/Québec team) retained the title she won last year at the Boys’ and Girls’ Provincial Junior Championship. She triumphed after a close battle with Zixuan Tan (Public Golfer Program) throughout the week.

It was the third round, in which Tavares carded a -2 (70), that made the difference. She finished the competition at +7, whilst Tan followed close behind at +8.

Kate Guo (Pinegrove/Québec team), who shot par in the first round, finished in third place at +14.

The Canadian Junior Girls’ Championship will take place at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley, in Caledon, Ontario, also from August 11 to 14. The Golf Québec team for the inter-provincial competition will consist of Zixuan Tan, Kate Guo and Sofia De Zordo (Balmoral/Québec team).

Due to her age, Tavares also claimed the title in the provincial junior girls’ competition, whilst Louis-Olivier St-Pierre (Les Saules) triumphed with a final score of +1 in the junior boys’ event.

The men’s and women’s provincial amateur championships will begin next Monday. The women’s championship will be held over three days at the Elm Ridge Country Club, and the men’s competition will take place in Saint-Georges from July 13 to 16.
