Montréal, May 8, 2026 – Golf Québec, in collaboration with the Montréal Regional Golf Association, will host a special event in honour of Roch Couture on Saturday, May 30, as part of the Assante Optimiste Classic, a major junior golf tournament.

A member of Club de golf Glendale for over 20 years, Roch Couture has distinguished himself through his unwavering commitment to the development of junior golf, a cause that has always been central to his career. His dedication has had a significant impact, particularly on Montréal’s North Shore, where he has made a remarkable contribution to the growth and accessibility of golf among our youth. It is this commitment that earned him the title of Volunteer of the Year in 2021.

Recently diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, Roch Couture will be honoured at this event, which aims to highlight his contributions to golf in Québec while raising funds for ALS research.

The event will take the form of a cocktail reception from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Club de golf Glendale. The cost to attend is $40. Family members, friends, colleagues, and the golf community are invited to join us for this occasion of recognition and solidarity.
