Peter Broome inducted into the Québec Golf Hall of Fame

Montréal, January 26, 2026 - Golf Québec is proud to announce that Peter Broome will become the 45th inductee into the Québec Golf Hall of Fame at a ceremony to be confirmed in future communications.

Peter Broome (1960 - ...)

A native of Montréal, Peter Broome developed his love of golf on the courses of the Royal Montreal Golf Club and Mount Bruno Country Club in his junior years. Later, while attending McGill University for a degree in education, he held assistant professional positions at several clubs in the metropolitan area. Through his contact with PGA of Canada professional Bob Hogarth, he developed a deep respect for the work of club professionals and the management of the golf industry.

His passion led him to a successful career in golf operations in Canada and then in the United States. He spent 30 years with Acushnet, where he held the position of Senior Vice President and was responsible for Titleist brand management and industry relations. His responsibilities included overseeing partnerships and communications with golf industry stakeholders such as the PGA of America, the PGA Tour, golf governing bodies, and the company's operations in Canada and Latin America.

Throughout his career, he has been a strong advocate for the role of golf professionals. He has worked to highlight their achievements while promoting the creation of services designed to support them, both on a day-to-day basis and in planning their future. His visionary leadership fostered a deeply meaningful partnership between the PGA of America and Acushnet that strengthened the PGA Show, enhanced the PGA Golf Retirement Plus program, and enhanced the PGA of America Championships in a way that will benefit all PGA members for many years to come.

Sadly, in August 2024, Peter was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), which led to the creation, with his family and close friends, of the Bridge Foundation in 2025. The Foundation's mission is to raise awareness and funds in support of ALS research and treatment.

In 2025, as a tribute to his unwavering devotion to the game of golf and support for professional golfers around the world, he became the 13th Honorary Member of the PGA of America. He was also honoured by the PGA of Canada with the George Cumming Award for his outstanding contribution to our sport and by the Golf Canada Foundation with the Legacy Award for the significant impact he has had on golf in Canada and internationally.

Peter Broome joins the Québec Golf Hall of Fame in the Builder category.

About the Québec Golf Hall of Fame

The Québec Golf Association’s Hall of Fame was founded by three past presidents of the QGA, Larry Boyle, Maurice Dagenais and Roger Legault. Their desire was to pay homage to the many great Québec players and builders who have distinguished themselves provincially, nationally, or internationally. A general consultation process began as various groups were asked to identify different personalities who might be honoured. Next, a selection committee was established with a mandate to evaluate the proposed candidates and determine those that would be elected for the inaugural ceremony in 1996.

The 2026 selection committee is made up of five (5) people appointed by the Golf Québec Board of Directors: Marcel Paul Raymond (committee chairman and Golf Québec President from 2014 to 2016), Marie-Thérèse Torti (inducted in 2021), Lisa Meldrum (inducted in 2023), André Maltais (inducted in 2024), and Charlie Beaulieu (President of the Fédération québécoise de golf from 2007 to 2011), one (1) representative of the PGA of Canada - Québec Zone, Guy Faucher, and one (1) member selected by the committee itself, Michel St-Laurent (Golf Québec President in 2001).
