Montréal, July 24, 2024 – The Vallée du Richelieu Golf Club hosted the Bantam, Pee-Wee, and Mosquito Championship. In the mosquito category, two athletes were crowned after the Monday round, while in the bantam and pee-wee divisions, a second round awaited all golfers on Tuesday before four new winners were crowned.

On the bantam girls' side, Kate Guo (Saint-Hyacinthe) dominated the tournament from start to finish. She carded rounds of 68 and 74 to finish at -2 (142). Her closest pursuers were Zixuan Tan (public golfer), at 154, and Nelly Adjaoud (Royal Ottawa), at 158. Adjaoud was the 2023 pee-wee champion and participated for the first time in the bantam category.

On the boys' side, still in the bantam category, the battle was tight between Lukas Zubec (Rivermead) and Louis-Olivier St-Pierre (Les Saules). At the end of the first round, St-Pierre had the lead after carding a 72, compared to Zubec's 74. Although St-Pierre improved his score in the second round with a 70, Zubec simply stole the show with an impressive 66, the best round of the event, thanks to 8 birdies including 5 on the front 9, to climb to first place with a total of 140 to St-Pierre's 142.

Thanks to a second-round 72, Zack Bourgeois (Le Blainvillier) moved up three rungs to take third place with a cumulative 148.

In the girls' pee-wee division, Florence Ho (Ottawa Hunt) won with a cumulative score of 157 (+13), ahead of Amelia Lecavalier (Club Laval-Sur-Le-Lac, +20) and Emily Wang (Kanawaki, +34).

As in the bantam category, the Rivermead Golf Club representatives excelled in the boys' peewee category, with Jack Sample and Zander Zhang finishing first and second respectively. Second after the first round, Sample recorded the best card in his category on Day 2 with a score of 71 to finish first with a cumulative score of +1. Zhang moved up three places in the second round to finish at +8.
