Dear Golf Québec participants:
As a result of Minister Charest's announcement yesterday, we now know that the competitive season in Québec can begin on June 25. Although matches can be played in some sports, competitions will not be allowed before June 25. Golf Québec would have liked to organize competitions well before this date, but it has been made clear that no exception will be made for an earlier start.
Golf Québec announces the following changes to its calendar of activities for the month of June:
• Optimiste Assante Classic – CANCELLED
• Provincial Mid-Amateur Championship – CANCELLED
• Debbie Savoy Morel Cup - CANCELLED
We would like to thank all the clubs that were supposed to host a qualifier in June even if they could not take place.
This means that Golf Québec's first competition will be the Alexandre de Tunis on June 28 and 29 at the Ottawa Hunt & Golf Club.
Please note that Golf Québec is in the process of reviewing all of its selection modes for all of these competitions in light of the cancellation of a majority of the early season tournaments that were used to qualify for our provincial competitions.
REGIONS
For all regional competitions, each region will issue separate press releases for their respective competitions. Players registered in these competitions will be the first to know of any cancellations or postponements.
