Schedule updates for the Match Play Championships

2020 Junior Match Play Champions

Hello everyone,

Our Premier, Mr. Legault, has announced that several measures will be lifted in the coming weeks. However, even with the announcement of these reduced measures, Golf Québec still did not get confirmation that competitions would be allowed in Québec.

We are and will remain in communication with our contacts at the Public Health Department, Direction du sport, du loisir et de l'activité physique, and Sports Québec to get more specific information on the application of these recent changes for our sport. It should also be noted that a press conference involving Minister Isabelle Charest should be held early next week to provide details on a possible return to competition.

We are almost at the end of this lockdown and I know we have pushed our patience to the limit, but the return to some normality is approaching.

In conjunction with the current announcements, Golf Québec must unfortunately announce the cancellation of its Men's Match Play Championship which was scheduled for June 1-4, at Hériot Golf Club.

ADDITION TO THE CALENDAR

The Junior Match Play Championship was still without a host club and, with this decision, the Hériot Golf Club was left without a competition. The club has agreed to host our juniors at its course for the Junior Match-Play Championship to be held from August 16 to 18.

We would like to thank Hériot Golf Club for its openness to host a Golf Québec competition despite the current situation.

Looking forward to seeing you in the near future in one of our competitions,

***Our competitions can only be organized once we have authorization from the Government of Québec.***

Eric Couture

Competition Director
