The Québec Golf Federation (Golf Québec) is the governing body of golf with a vision to be the leader in the growth of golf in Québec and a mission to increase participation and develop excellence in golf.
 
It represents over 40,000 members in more than 250 clubs in Québec and Eastern Ontario. Golf Québec offers programs such as Golf in Schools at the elementary and high school levels, junior programs with the Junior Golf Development Centres, Rules of Golf, course rating, and the handicap system. Golf Québec also oversees various regional and provincial amateur competitions.
 
 
 
The Golf Québec team is looking for a Competition Coordinator for the 2021 season. The selected candidate will work full-time during the summer. This candidate will work in collaboration with another Coordinator and will be accompanied by the Competition Director. We are looking for a dynamic individual with strong interpersonal skills. A good knowledge of the golf industry and experience in sports event management will be an asset for this position.
 
Job Description:
• Coordinate golf competitions;
• Manage on-site competitions including registration, tee times and scoring;
• Follow up with the club for volunteer needs;
• Coaching, training, and providing documentation to volunteers at each competition;
• Assist the competition team in setting up equipment on site;
• Ensure constant support to referees in their needs during competitions;
• Respond to requests from parents, players and volunteers;
• Ensure that sponsor requests are met for each competition;
• Oversee the Golf Canada Score Centre;
• Follow up after each competition with clubs and volunteers;
• Manage the order of merit.
 
Requirements:
• Knowledge of golf;
• Fluency in written and spoken French and English;
• Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills;
• Good computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word and Excel);
• Possession of a valid driver's license;
• Ability to train staff;
• Experience in managing a work team.
 
Duration and dates:
• This is a 40-hour week position at $18 per hour;
• Starting date: May 31, 2021.
