Honorary Co-Presidents of the 2008 tournament are Madame la Ministre de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport, Michelle Courchesne and Claude Chagnon,President of the Québec Foundation for Athletic Excellence.

The renowned golf architect, Graham Cooke, captured the honours at the Men’s Provincial Senior Championship which was held this week on the Rouville Course of the Vallée du Richelieu Golf Club. He played 72-66-68—206 (-10), which gave him a 5 stroke advance on the defending champion, André Gagné of Royal Québec, who finished 2^nd (70-71-70—211).

Forty of Golf Québec’s aspiring junior golfers were treated today to a rare private session with Hank Haney, Tiger Woods swing coach. The clinic took place at St. Raphaël Golf Course as part of the events of the Omnium de Montréal Desjardins.

Québec’s darling, Maude-Aimée Leblanc, is achieving one of her dreams today as she plays with her idol: Michelle Wie. It is at the CN Canadian Women’s Open, presented this week at the Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club by the RCGA, that our star of women’s amateur golf will tee it up with the young American professional.

The Ki-8-Eb Golf Club, located in the Mauricie District, was host to the first edition of the Inter-District Championship, part of Golf Québec’s Provincial Junior Tour.
